Elitsa Kostova continues with her great performance in the Mont-De-Marsan tournament and after a victory over the number 3 seed Natalie Piquion with 6-2 3-6 6-4 she reached the final round.
This is the best result in the profesional career of the 20-year-old bulgarian, who until now had 2 title in 10,000$ tournaments and has never before passe the quaterfinals in a 25,000$ tournament.
In the first set Kostova had a big advantage she broke her opponent`s serve twice and after she missed three setballs she didn`t do a mistake on the fourth one and took the first set.
Natalie Piquion stole the second part, and the fight got to a third set. There were a series of breaks until Elitsa achieved a match ball at 5-4 and used her first oppurtunity and after 2 hours and 17 minutes of play reached her first final.
In attempt to win her first title at 25,000$ she will meet Petra Cetkovska. The 25-year-old Czech is currently ranked number 245 in the world but she has reached number 49. Cetkovska has 17 ITF titles and four quaterfinals in WTA tournaments in her career
Thanks to the final Elitsa Kostova will earn 34 WTA points which will allow her to reach a ranking around 320 but this will be clear when the next rankings appear.
